Explore the Kingdoms of India that existed almost 500 years from now. This itinerary of 12 Nights and 13 Days makes you travel through the remains of kingdoms in the northeast regions of India. All the way from Guwahati to Kaziranga, Touphema, Kohima, Sivasagar, Jorhat, and Shillong, you can enjoy the splendid beauty of nature. The aura of these destinations is incredible due to the wonderful cultural influences of their pasts.

Choose Your Itinerary
Day 1

Arrival at Guwahati-
After reaching Guwahati Airport/Railway Station you will be welcomed by our representatives and transferred to your hotel. Check in, freshen up, and take a little rest. You may spend the rest of the day at leisure. You can also explore the nearby regions of the hotel, take gradual walks down the streets, talk to the locals, enjoy street food, etc. Later, return to your hotel for a nightlong stay.

Day 2

Guwahati - Kaziranga-
In the morning, post breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park (220 km - 4 hrs). Check-in and take a little rest at the Jungle resort. In the afternoon, get ready to visit the local tribal villages and Tea Estates. Communicate with the inhabitants of the village and enjoy the supreme hospitality extended by them. At Tea Estate witness the lush green tea gardens spread over a vast area. You can also see the procedures involved in the processing of tea. Thereafter, return to the resort for an overnight stay.

Day 3

Kaziranga-
Early morning get the dose of adventure with Elephant Safari to central Range of Kaziranga National Park. Thereafter, while returning explore the eastern range of the park on a jeep safari. Reach the resort for lunch and later continue with the jeep safari to explore the Western Range of the park. After a fun-filled day, return to the resort for an overnight stay.

Day 4

Kaziranga-Kohima-Touphema-
In the morning, after breakfast, drive to Kohima (225 kms 5 hrs drive). After reaching Kohima, halt for lunch and take a little rest. Thereafter, proceed to Touphema Tourist Village (41 km). Reach Touphema Village Resort, check-in, freshen up and take a little rest. This resort is operated by the Angami Naga village community. You may use the rest of the day exploring the nearby areas of the resort and strolling down the lanes. Return to the resort for a nightlong stay.

Day 5

Touphema-Kohima-Dimori Cove-Kohima-
Explore the village after breakfast at the resort. Thereafter, drive to Kohima where you visit the WW II Cemetery, nestled in the heart of the city. Proceed to the State Museum at Bayani hill. Here, you can find the glimpses of rich culture and heritage of the Nagas through handlooms, and handicrafts, ancient weaponry, gems & jewelry, tools & implements, artifacts, coins, etc. Post lunch, trip to Kepfiizha (Kigwema village) Dimori Cove Guest house. This is the camping point for trekkers to the Japfu Peak (3048 meter Mt) Japfu. Rhododendron trees (20 meters high) are in abundance in this area and this destination is considered best in terms of trekking tours in valley of North-East India. Travel around the Angami village of Jakhama and thereafter, return to Kohima. Reach you hotel, check-in for an overnight stay.

Day 6

Kohima - Khonoma - Kohima-
Proceed towards Khonoma, in the morning, to visit the Angami Tribal village. This village is the abode of ‘Father of Naga Nationalist Movement’, Angami Phizo. Nestled on the top of a hillock, provides splendid view of the lush green beauty of the village. Travel around the village and talk to the inhabitants. Later, return to Kohima and spend the remaining time at leisure. You may take gradual walks down to the lanes. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 7

Kohima-Dimapur-Sivasagar-
Early in the morning, post breakfast, leave for Sivasagar (Sibsagar). On the way, halt at Dimapur to visit Kachari Kingdom. Explore the area and later proceed to the Ahom Kingdom at Sivasagar. Before giving it to the British, this kingdom was under the reign of Ahom kings who ruled Assam for 500 years. Explore the area and check in to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 8

Sivasagar - Jorhat-
In the morning, visit and the Maidams (Mummy like structures) of Ahom Kings. This is a burial ground at Charaideo. Later visit to Tai Ahom Museum. In the afternoon, drive to Jorhat (1 hour). Reach your hotel, check in and take a little rest. You may spend the remaining day at leisure or rest at hotel. Explore the nearby regions of the hotel. Return to your hotel for a nightlong stay.

Day 9

Jorhat-
Drive to Jorhat, the tea-capital of Assam, in the morning after breakfast. Reach Thengal Mansion, check-in and take a little rest. This is the historic ancestral house of a tea planter. Located at a distance of 15km from the Jorhat city, this place reflects the rich culture and tradition of Assamese. After lunch, take leisure walks to the nearby areas of the mansion. Indulge in the serenity of the place, communicate with the locals, enjoy street food, etc. For an overnight stay, return to the Thengal Mansion.

Day 10

Jorhat- Shillong-
Post breakfast, drive to Shillong (350 km 6 hrs). On the way, visit Barapani Umiam Lake. This majestic placid lake is surrounded by Sylvan Hills. Enjoy the serenity of the place. Reach Royal Heritage Tripura Castle, check-in, take a little rest, you may use the remaining hours exploring the castle or in and around areas. Overnight stay at the castle.

Day 11

Shillong-
This day is dedicated for sightseeing at Shillong. Shillong gets the name of ‘Scotland of the East’ due to the amiable beauty. Earlier, Shillong used to be the capital of undivided Assam. Today, this region is the abode of Khasi Highland tribes. Visit some of the attractions like Ward Lake, Elephanta Falls, Shillong Peak, Hydari Park, etc., to view the phenomenal views. Return to the castle for an overnight stay.

Day 12

Shillong - Guwahati-
Drive to Guwahati (100 km 2 and ½ hrs) in the morning, after breakfast. Reach your hotel, check in and take a little rest. Utilize the remaining day in exploring Guwahati. Being called the gateway city to the Northeast of India, Guwahati has attractions like Saraighat Bridge, Assam State Zoo, Shrimanta Shankardeva Kalakshetra, Temples of Hajo, etc. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 13

Departure from Guwahati.-
In the morning, you will be assisted and guided to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey.
